Barn House Orton Cumbria
Welcome
Barn House Orton conservatory

the barn house has established itself as a welcoming and comfortable Bed and Breakfast house. Orton is a stepping stone to the Yorkshire Dales National Parks and on the doorstep of the Howgills, Cumbria’s secret open space playground. A short car journey from the barn house takes you into the heart of the Lake District.

Footpath near Barn House Orton Cumbriathe barn house is a 200 year old converted bank barn – originally food for the animals was delivered in to the top of the barn and then thrown down to the byre beneath where the animals were kept. These days we aim to do things with a little more style.

The Coast to Coast route for walkers, originally conceived by AW Wainwright, the W2W and SusTrans cycling routes pass by at the end of our drive. Whatever the reason for your visit we can assure you of a warm welcome.
